Oskar Hederyd to new role as business developer at Swedish Lapland Visitors Board

Swedish Lapland Visitors Board starts the fall by welcoming Oskar Hederyd to the new role as Business Developer with a focus on strategic partnerships.
Oskar comes most recently from a role as Acting Establishment Manager at Luleå Business Region.

In his new role, he will work in close collaboration with the community’s stakeholders, based on entrepreneurial and location strategy-driven needs, to promote the development of the tourism industry to achieve set local and regional goals.

“Oskar Hederyd has both the experience and the drive required for the role, which acts as a bridge between the tourism industry’s internal and external ecosystems.
I am very happy to welcome Oskar to the team to strengthen the opportunities to realize the great potential that the tourism industry can contribute to the county’s development”, says Annika Fredriksson, CEO of Swedish Lapland Visitors Board.

“With everything that is happening throughout the world and the county around the need to change, we have good chances of increasing the population, getting more people to move here permanently and contributing to development in various industries.
The challenge is to get different industries to interact and pull in the same direction,” says Oskar Hederyd.

A senior business developer with a genuine interest in people

As a senior business developer with broad experience of land and establishment issues, Oskar is used to working with location and business development. His genuine interest in people permeates his work with strengthening entrepreneurs in their business and creating relationships and building networks. With a particular passion for rural development, Oskar has over the years worked with everything from construction and building projects to food production.

Oskar also has over twenty years of experience of self-employment in the tourism industry and runs a successful canoe company and the only specialized canoe shop in Norrbotten, Canoe Adventure North.

“Being part of the tourism industry in an intense time when more and more people are coming here and finding new ways of working and structures in close collaboration with the municipalities in Norrbotten is one of the things I look forward to most in my role,” says Oskar.

The new role will, together with the rest of the organization, be responsible for building long-term sustainable relationships and spreading knowledge about the potential of the tourism industry to contribute to the development of society as a whole, addressing challenges and realizing opportunities.

“Oskar will play a key role in the team’s work to enable the development of the tourism industry and to establish and promote attractive, visitor-friendly destinations.
Together we will work to implement priority actions in the strategic roadmap for Sweden’s Arctic destinations 2030 and our Arctic agenda Care for the Arctic”, concludes Annika Fredriksson.

Oskar will take up the position on October 1.
